BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS FORUM 2017
Many people with disability face multiple complex barriers to accessing the justice system. At this innovative and informative forum held in partnership with the City of Stonnington, learn to empower your clients and hear from some of the leading experts in disability support services, legal services, the judiciary, social work and more.
After a successful event in 2016, Breaking down Barriers has returned with a focus on violence against women with disability, discrimination, capacity and accessible communication.
Hear from esteemed speakers including Jen Hargraves, Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV); Julie Phillips, Manager of Disability Discrimination Legal Service (DDLS); Colin Hiscoe, Reinforce Self Advocacy Group; in addition to Jane Rosengrave, disability and indigenous rights activist.
This forum will provide a fantastic networking opportunity and education about how to improve access to justice for people with disability.
